Between the stretch wrapping packing method and shrink wrapping packing methods, there are variant differences of these two. Here are some of the differences presented:

First, from the name we can directly understand that the stretch wrapping method is basically using the stretchable plastic film to wrap around the load or products while the shrink wrapping methods are covering loosely around the product or load with contractable film which will shrink tightly after applying heat.
 
Second, the stretch wrap film is commonly made up of polythene material while the shrink wrap film is commonly made up of polyolefin plastic material.

Third, the stretch wrap package is often used to hold the loads, increase the loadability. Normally it won't be a single product but many pcs to be packed together as one big bundle.  But the shrink wrap package is often used for protecting a single product from dust or vapor. 
Fourth, the advantages of the stretch wrap package are protective, cost effective, adaptable. The stretch wrapping machines are simple machinery and can be applied to various products and objects. The shrink wrap package has advantages like protective, no surface damage and breath-ability. The exterior of shrink wrap package is very neat, nice and beautiful, good looking and easy to sell.
