It also reduces the maximum tensile stress in the structure, minimizing the likelihood of brittle fracture in low-ductility steel. By reducing the effective stress amplitude, the fatigue life of the structure is increased, thereby conserving steel and reducing construction costs.

Prestressed steel strand packaging demands high standards, requiring sufficient abrasion resistance and strong binding force to prevent loosening during handling and unloading. It also needs to provide effective protection against oxidation, dust, and contamination. Wrapping prestressed steel strand coils with braided tape is a more reliable packaging method. The tape is passed through the coil's center hole, minimizing the possibility of loosening.
