Contractable PE film is usually used as the packaging material for large sized products like door panels, bundles of rock wool insulation panel, it's not considered as the ideal packaging material for small sized products or objects because the shrinkage rate is lower than other heat contractable packaging material such as PVC shrinkable film and POF shrinkable film. Also, the temperature required for shrinking the PE film is comparatively higher than the other shrinkable film ( The temperature is required to be over 190 Celsius degree for PE film while the POF film requires 140 Celsius degree and PVC film only requires 110 Celsius degree ). But for some specific products, PE film is thicker and can provide better protection to the products. So, it has to choose the PE film as the packaging material.

Our customer has the plan to make the shrink wrapped package for packing their cable reels by the material of PE shrinkable film and the shrink wrapping machine is intended to integrated with their automatic cable coiling machine. They also have variant sizes of their cable coils, which is a trouble considered when making the packaging solutions. For making the most ideal packaging solution for this customer, our team chose the side sealing shrink wrapping machine as the basic solution because it's more flexible and has more wide packing range than other types of shrink wrapper. In order to make more perfect package, we also made some detailed customization on this packaging solution. First, the PE film requires higher shrinking temperature and longer shrinking time, so we have extended the length of the shrinking tunnel. It's 1.9 meter which is much longer than 1.5 meter of the normal model for POF film packaging. The PE film is sticky when it's shrinking inside the heat shrink tunnel, so the rod chain conveyor has to change from self rotation type to non rotation type to prevent the melt film sticking on the rotating rods when inside the shrinking tunnel.

Different from the standard models of side sealing shrink wrapper, this machine has the side pressing rollers at the end of shrinking tunnel for pressing the wrapped reels to make the package better wrapped and increase the tightness. Cooling fans next to the shrink tunnel to cool down the shrunk package of cable coils rapidly.

The PE film is softer than PVC and POF film, not very easy to make clear punched holes on the film. So the film punching unit on this machine is also changed from puncher to pin wheels, which is more reliable to make consistant holes for air evaporation.
