This mold turner is a simple mechanism with no electric motor for tilting heavy molds and dies 90 degree. The machine has L shape turning basket to allow molds to be placed inside. It's applicable to generally small and medium sized molds.
L shape turning basket for tilting the injection molds by 90°.
Maximum load capacity is up to 5 tons. Suitable for handling small and medium sized molds.
Reinforced steel construction, the whole machine is welded from closed profiles with super thick walls.
Design Features
- L-shape turning basket — the mold sits inside the basket and turns within the frame, so the load stays on the machine's own structure instead of swinging on a sling.
- Two adjustable profiles — fitted in the middle of the basket, they can be moved to suit different mold footprints and keep a smaller die from shifting during the turn.
- Supportive beam — when the basket comes up, it rests on a strong support beam, so you can inspect or work on the mold without holding the load in the air.
- Lifting lugs — the hoist connection is built into the basket, which keeps every lift simple and repeatable for the operator.

Material & Build
Reinforced steel construction, with the whole machine welded from closed profiles with super thick walls. There is no bolt-together frame to work loose — base, uprights and basket are fabricated as one heavy structure, and that rigidity is what keeps a mold steady once it is up in the air.
The basket takes the real load, so its walls and platform are built to the same standard as the rest of the machine. Every unit is welded and assembled in our own works; pallet inverters are what we have always built first, and the team that fabricates those machines builds this turner to the same shop standard. Expect a machine that feels solid rather than portable — it is designed to sit in one place and be used every day.
Lifting & Operation
- Stand the turner where the hoist or crane can reach the basket comfortably, then level the frame on its adjusting stands — the machine is built to sit steady on a floor that is not perfectly flat.
- Lift the mold with your hoist and lower it into the L-shape basket, resting it on the platform between the basket walls.
- Set the adjustable profiles close to the mold so it cannot move sideways in the basket.
- Connect the hoist to the lifting lugs, take up the slack, and make sure nobody is standing in the turning arc.
- Turn the basket up smoothly until it reaches the working position, then lower it onto the supportive beam so it rests there on its own.
- Work on the mold, or lift it clear. To put the mold back the way it was, take the weight off the beam, turn the basket down and lift it out.
Where It's Used
- Injection molding shops — turning a mold that has come off the press for cleaning, inspection or a repair, where the turn happens occasionally rather than continuously.
- Die casting and heavy tooling — casting dies and other heavy cubic parts that have to be set down on a different face before the next operation.
- Tool rooms and maintenance bays — when a mold arrives for a plate change and there is no room, or no budget, for a powered machine.
- Small workshops and job shops — where the hoist already does the heavy lifting and the turner's job is simply to hold the mold steady while it comes round.
Ordering & Delivery
- Tell us the size and weight of the heaviest mold you need to turn, and which face you want up.
- Describe your lifting setup — hoist or crane, hook height, and how a mold is normally loaded on your shop floor.
- Say where the machine will stand and which side you will load from, so the basket comes up into clear space.
- If you need a turning angle or a basket arrangement this machine does not cover, tell us — for some jobs a powered mold flipper is the better answer.
- Ask us to confirm the current machine configuration, packing and transport details for your address; as pallet inverter specialists we handle machines of this size regularly and will confirm what your site needs.
FAQ
Does this mold turner need electricity or hydraulics?
No. The turn is made with your hoist or crane, so there is no motor, no hydraulic pump and no control panel on the machine. It can be used in any bay your hoist can reach, including areas with no power point nearby, and there is very little on it that can fail.
What lifting equipment do I need on site?
A hoist or crane rated for the mold plus the basket load, connected at the machine's lifting points. Check the hook height with the basket in the raised position — that is the detail people most often overlook in a low bay. If you work with a forklift rather than a crane, tell us how you load molds and we will advise on the most practical way to use this turner.
How much clear space should I leave around the machine?
Leave the turning side clear so the basket can come up without catching a wall, a rack or neighbouring equipment, and keep the floor under the raised mold empty. Because the machine stands in one place, the space around it is the only thing to plan; a little walking room on the loading side makes the mold easier to position.
Can I turn a mold that is heavier than the machine's rated load?
No — stay within the machine's load limit. If some of your heavier molds still need turning, send us their weights and dimensions and we will point you to the machine in the range that suits them, rather than asking this one to do more than it is built for.
What maintenance does this mold turner need?
Very little compared with a powered machine: no motor oil, no hydraulic fluid and no control system to service. Before a heavy lift, check the welds, the lifting points, the support beam and the adjusting stands, and keep the basket clear of swarf and debris. When the turner is not in use, leave the basket in the down position.
Can it be adapted to suit my mold?
Upgrades and customization are available on this design. If your mold needs a different spacing between the basket profiles, or you want the loading side arranged a particular way, tell us the details and our engineers will confirm what can be changed. We design and build this wrapping machine ourselves, so changes stay with the people who made it.
